Dr Stephen Shortt- GMC Number: 3189283 – Male
B Med Sci, BM, BS, MRCGP, DRCOG. Nottingham 1986. As well as being a partner at Village Health Group, Dr Shortt has helped patients all throughout the Rushcliffe area for over 30 years. He was presented with a special recognition award by CRA in December 2020 for his outstanding work within Primary Care to help put patients first. He is also the Clinical Lead for Complaints and Commissioning. Dr Shortt is married to a local GP and has two children.

Dr Imran Arshad- GMC Number: 6101426 – Male
MB ChB BSc (Hons),MRCP, MRCGP, DFSRH, DRCOG 2004 Leicester Warwick Medical School. Dr Arshad is one of our male partner general practitioners. As well as being one of the partners for Village Health Group, Dr Arshad is also a registered GP trainer who helps teach the registrars who come to our practice during their placements. In addition to this, he is also one of the Clinical Leads for our care homes.

Dr Neil Fraser- GMC Number: 6028238 – Male
MB ChB, MRCP, (UK) DCH, MRCGP (UK), MBA. Dr Fraser joined East Leake Surgery as a GP Partner in 2007, having been to Medical School in Leicester, and working as a junior doctor in hospitals across the Midlands. Since then, he has also worked in commissioning and leadership roles in the local NHS. He is currently a GP Trainer and appraiser.

Dr Rachel Shaw- GMC Number: 7285150 – Female
MA (Cantab) BMBS DFSRH MRCGP Dr Shaw originally studied English Literature at Cambridge University then worked in a management role within the NHS before deciding to study medicine. She trained at Nottingham University and later entered the Nottingham GP vocational training scheme, joining East Leake Medical Group on completion in 2018. Dr Shaw’s areas of interest include healthcare of older people, palliative medicine and women’s health. She is also one of our Clinical Child & Adult Safeguarding Leads. She lives in Nottingham with her husband and two young children.

Dr Neil Shroff- GMC Number: 4214568 – Male
Bsc MBBS AFRCSEd MRCGP Dr Shroff joined Keyworth in May 2005 as a GP locum, he progressed to assistantship and then partnership in April 2007. He qualified in 1995 at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School. Specialising in plastic surgery and Clinical Dermatology, he worked in several hospitals around the UK. Also, he has helped pioneer the skin cancer surgery service for local practices. Dr Shroff sits on national committees for Dermatology, focusing on primary care Dermatology Education and Skin Cancer.

Dr Asifa Akhtar- GMC Number: 6103668 – Female
BSc ( Hons) Pharmacy MB ChB, MRCGP, DFSRH, DRCOG 2004 Leicester Warwick Medical School 2004 Leicester Warwick Medical School. Dr. Akhtar joined the practice in October 2011 after completing the Nottingham Vocational Training Scheme. She is currently the Clinical Lead for Dispensary, Medicines Management, and Prescribing. In addition to her leadership roles, she is actively involved in clinical research within the practice and serves as the CQC Registered Manager. Dr. Akhtar plays a key role in Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) initiatives and the management of long-term conditions, such as heart failure. She has a strong passion for teaching and mentoring and serves as the Clinical Lead for both the Pharmacy Team and Physician Assistants. She has supported numerous professionals through the Independent Prescriber course and is a strong advocate for integrating community pharmacy services into general practice. As the Lead for the Pharmacy Team within the Rushcliffe Primary Care Network (PCN), Dr. Akhtar has been instrumental in embedding pharmacists into general practice. She also works with the Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) as the Prescribing Lead, contributing to the development of local prescribing guidelines in collaboration with the Local Area Prescribing Team. Dr. Akhtar has a keen interest in clinical processes and is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. She has been actively involved in innovation and digital transformation within general practice and was a key advocate and driver behind the successful implementation of the Total Triage model.

Dr Suzanne Sivanandan- GMC Number: 7088439 – Female
MA (cantab) MBBS AICSM DFSRH MRCGP Dr Sivanandan studied pre-clinical medicine at Cambridge University and then studied clinical medicine at Imperial College London, completing her training in 2010. She spent her first two years as a Doctor working in the North West then moved back to London to complete her GP vocational training at King’s College Hospital, finishing in August 2015. Whilst completing her GP vocational training she completed a diploma in sexual and reproductive health, completed a postgraduate course in Diabetes and became a forensic medical examiner for cases of sexual assault. She joined the practice in August 2015 and is now a Clinical Lead for the PPG. Her husband is a clinical oncology consultant in Nottingham, they have two children together.

Dr Louise Glasgow- GMC Number: 4432030 – Female
BA BM BCh Oxon MRCGP DRCOG DFSRH MRCPCH. Dr Glasgow qualified in Oxford in 1997 and initially trained in Paediatrics in Nottingham before moving into General Practice. She has a special interest in paediatrics, child health and dermatology. She moved from a partnership in north Nottingham to come to Keyworth in July 2011. Dr Glasgow is also one of our Clinical Child & Adult Safeguarding Leads. She is married with 3 teenage boys and a dog.

Dr Gurvinder Sahota- GMC Number: 7038954 – Male
MB ChB 2009 University of Birmingham. Dr Sahota joined the practice in August 2015 after having completed his General Practice speciality training in Nottingham. He qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2009 and initially trained in surgery before moving into General Practice. He currently works between Keyworth and the University of Nottingham Medical School, where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor. He has a keen interest in undergraduate teaching, research and medical ethics. Dr Sahota is our Clinical Caldicott Lead, Information Governance Lead & INR Star Lead.

MB BS 2013 Kings College London. Dr Puar is one of our male Partners who joined Village Health Group in late 2019, since that time he has helped many patients within the Rushcliffe area

Dr Jill Langridge- GMC Number: 3344231 – Female
BM BS 1989 University of Nottingham, MRCGP, DRCOG, DFFP. Dr Langridge qualified from Nottingham University in 1989 and joined the Keyworth GP practice in 1995 having completed the Nottingham GP Vocational Training Scheme. Her interests include women’s health and care of older people. She is also a clinical advisor for the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group Clinical Design Authority. She is married to a local GP and has two children. She was a partner at VHG until March 2022 before stepping down and now still works with the team holding Gynae clinics.

Molly Albon
Molly joined the practice in November 2023 after qualifying as a Physician Assistant. She studied Medical Sciences at the University of Leeds and then went on to complete her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Sheffield. She works as part of the clinical team seeing patients under the supervision of the Doctors at the practice.

Eleanor Hinton
Eleanor qualified in November 2023 as a Physician Assistant. She studied Biomedical Science at the University of Worcester, followed by Physician Assistant Masters also at University of Worcester. Eleanor works as part of the clinical team seeing patients under the supervision of the Doctors at the practice.

Bryony Pears
Bryony joined the practice in November 2024. She has an undergraduate degree in Biology followed by a postgraduate degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Reading. She qualified as a Physician Assistant in November 2021 and previously worked at Musters Medical Practice in West Bridgford for 3 years before moving over to join the Village Health Group team. She works as part of the clinical team seeing patients under the supervision of doctors

BSc (Hons) Pharmacy, MRPharmS, IP, Leicester 1999. Harlene has held a variety of community pharmacy and training roles since qualifying as a pharmacist. Originally from London, she moved to Nottingham in 2004 and has settled here with her husband and two children. She joined the practice in 2020 as an Independent Prescriber and enjoys conducting our patients’ reviews and assisting them with their medication queries.

Nicola Starr- Lead Nurse & HCA – Female
Nicola started working for VHG in January 2024 and since then she has managed to progress to the lead practice nurse. Nicola has been qualified as a nurse since 2018. During this time, she has managed to work in a small variety of clinical areas which include community nursing, chemotherapy as well as practice nursing. Nicola has spent majority of her time in primary care as she finds this most rewarding.

Laura Clarke
Laura trained in Nottingham and qualified in 1993. She worked in the Spinal Unit for a while before deciding to work in the accident and emergency department at Queens Medical Centre. She entered Practice Nursing in 1998 and has been doing it ever since. Laura has a particular interest in Diabetes and educating patients about prevention and management.

Rachael Holliday
Rachael joined the practice in September 2005 after completing the Practice Nurse Training Scheme. She qualified as a nurse in 1987 in Leeds. Since becoming a practice nurse she has gone on to do further training in asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, sexual health, health promotion, immunisation and wound care as well as becoming a non-medical prescriber. More recently, she has completed a course in clinical decision making to support her work seeing patients with minor illnesses and injuries.

Victoria Humphrey
Vicky started as a practice nurse with us in September 2018. She is experienced with a wide variety of nursing appointments but has a particular interest in women’s health. She was previously a district nurse with a diploma in leg ulcer management.

Linda MacDougall
Linda joined Village Health Group in October 2021, after relocating from Surrey, where she worked as a Practice Nurse for over 20 years. She gained Diploma’s in Diabetes, Asthma, cardiovascular disease and women’s health. She enjoys all aspects of practice nursing but especially long term conditions, vaccinations, and women’s health. She is passionate about supporting those patients with long term conditions, including Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Cardiovascular disease, B12 deficiency and Rheumatoid Arthritis
